Additionally please check your email for your child's logon information and passwords.  Also, beginning Thursday, April 23rd I will be hosting virtual office hours every Thursday from 9:30-10:30 am.  This virtual office hour will take place using Zoom and you will receive an email with a link for you and your Kindergartener to take part in our class meeting.

Hi Families! I hope you are all doing well. I wanted to update you on some free learning resources your kindergartner can use! brainpopJr. and brainpopELL have lessons for all content areas, just create a free account. Google Earth is a great way to explore the world we live in! National Geographic Kids is a great resource that includes videos, games, experiments, and a variety of other fun activities! I also linked PBS Learning Media, this has lessons and activities across all content areas. Please see the useful links tab to get links to all these great resources.  Stay safe and healthy!

Learning Objectives

Here's what we are learning:
Reading -Non-fiction text features (title, headings, captions, labels, and pictures).
-Review letters and sounds
-Practicing reading sight words and CVC words (consonant vowel consonant example =hat, rug, cat)   

                                             
Writing -Writing a sentences about yourself.
-Writing non-fiction sentences about animals.
***Sentences should start with a capital letter, include finger spaces between words, stretch out/sound out unknown words, and end with a period.


Math -Practice counting to 100 by ones and tens.
-Comparing sets of objects (identify which set has more, fewer, or the same)
-Recognizing and writing numbers 0-20.
-Recognizing coins and knowing the names and values.
-Counting unorganized sets of objects.


Science -Review lights and shadows
-Review the five senses
-Pushes/Pulls


Social Studies   -Communities (rural and urban)
-Positional words (left/right, above/below, near/far)
-Citizenship (good choices and bad choices)
